About the Author
Bamini Selladurai
Writer of literary mysteries exploring identity, migration, family secrets, and the long shadows of war
Building bridges across cultures, communities, and generations — one story at a time.
Born in Sri Lanka, raised in Singapore, and now based in Melbourne, Australia, Bamini Selladurai writes stories that explore identity, migration, memory, and the lingering impact of war across generations. Her fiction is deeply informed by her experiences within the Tamil diaspora and her lifelong interest in the untold human stories shaped by displacement and silence.
Her novel, Never My Father's Daughter, is a literary mystery set between Melbourne and northern Sri Lanka. Through the investigation into the murder of a Tamil refugee mother in Melbourne, the novel examines themes of family secrets, intergenerational trauma, forgiveness, resilience, and the search for belonging. Blending the tension of a whodunnit with emotionally layered storytelling, the book seeks to shine a light on the personal cost of conflict while exploring the possibility of healing and reconciliation.
Bamini has lived in Australia for more than three decades and is passionate about writing stories that connect cultures, preserve memory, and give voice to experiences that are too often left unspoken. Never My Father's Daughter is her latest novel and is available in Kindle, paperback, and hardcover editions.
